Audrey Assad

I’m currently OBSESSED with a new artist named Audrey Assad. She’s the latest songwriter to be added to the EMI CMG roster, and her new album has been on “repeat” in my house for the past few weeks. I haven’t heard songwriting this good since Nichole Nordeman. If you like Sara Groves and Brooke Fraser, you will LOVE Assad. Her eloquent lyrics are simply lovely, and the melodies are equally as beautiful. I had the privilege of seeing her perform a short set last week at The Rutledge here in Nashville, and her live vocal performance is just as exquisite as the recorded version.

Needless to say, she already has a few fans. She’s sung on recent songs with Robbie Seay Band and Jonny Diaz (She’s the female voice on “More Beautiful You.”), and she’s already toured with Tenth Avenue North and Chris Tomlin. She recorded a song on Tomlin’s Christmas record (“Winter Snow”). Listen for her first single, “For Love of You,” at radio, and check out her full-length debut, The House You’re Building (Sparrow) on July 13.
