Third Day’s Mac Powell recently released his very first solo album. Third Day is scheduled to release its next studio album, Miracle (Essential), in November. Meanwhile, Powell is promoting his side project by playing shows at intimate clubs and small venues throughout the fall. Produced by longtime collaborator Jason Hoard, the album is filled with Powell’s signature baritone that fits comfortably in the country realm. It’s a transition that feels easy and unsurprising as Powell’s voice has long been deep, rich and rootsy. The songs on his self-titled country record find the songwriter musing on life, loss, love and faith. It’s a nice departure that longtime Third Day fans as well as country fans are sure to enjoy. Powell already saw a great response from country fans when he played the CMA Fest earlier this year. Click here to purchase the record, and visit www.macpowell.com to learn more.
