Dove-AwardsNominees were announced today for the 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards. Media, publicists, sponsors, GMA Board Members, Nashville Mayor Karl Dean and other industry personnel attended the press conference held this morning on Lipscomb University’s campus. Mandisa, Francesca Battistelli, Tenth Avenue North, Rhett Walker and Jason Crabb were among the artists on hand to unveil the nominees in 22 of the 42 total categories.

Of particular note this year, prestigious categories, including “Male Vocalist of the Year,” “Female Vocalist of the Year” and “Group of the Year” have been removed. In addition, a variety of new categories have been added, including “Inspirational Film of the Year.” Presenters and performers will be announced in the weeks to come.

The 44th Annual GMA Dove Awards will be held October, 15, 2013, at Lipscomb University’s Allen Arena in Nashville, Tenn get redirected here., and will air live nationwide exclusively on UP!
