Prove the Poets WrongOver the past week, steady buzz surrounding NEEDTOBREATHE has been building thanks to a few mysterious social media posts previewing a documentary, which the band premiered on their website last night. The candid film is titled Prove The Poets Wrong and feels more like a mini-trailer leading up to their new release, peaking curiosity by chronicling what appears to have been a tumultuous two years. Clocking in at just over half an hour, it provides a behind-the-scenes look into the lives of the band members and answers some burning questions fans have been asking for the past year.

Interviews with Bear and Bo Rinehart, Seth Bolt and former member Joe Stillwell reveal their views on art, family and faith. While a large portion of this mini-documentary style video focuses on live and exclusive acoustic performances, fans get a taste of the building tension between band members since the release of The Reckoning (Atlantic/Word) and also get an honest look at the reasons behind Stillwell’s departure. While the interviews all seem ambiguous at times, one thing is for sure, the wait for new music is over. At the end of the documentary, the band announced that their highly-anticipated fifth studio album will release April 15, 2014. A headlining tour is sure to follow.

The documentary ends with a direct message to fans with the band commenting, “You’ve inspired us to go to places we never imagined we’d go, to dig deeper and challenge ourselves like never before and to create the best album of our career.”

For those who missed the premiere of the documentary, it is currently still available on YouTube, and you can watch it in its entirety below. Stay tuned to for upcoming details regarding their new album as they are announced.
