At a kickoff concert that welcomed attendees to this year’s K-LOVE Fan Awards weekend, Pepsi MidAmerica unveiled its 2014 Christian artist can series. With the help of Matthew West, Matt Maher and Francesca Battistelli (who were all featured on last year’s cans, along with TobyMac), the 2014 cans were unveiled in between sets from Rend Collective, for KING & COUNTRY, Tenth Avenue North, NEEDTOBREATHE and Switchfoot.
Beginning this fall, fans can purchase cans of Pepsi with their favorite artists wrapped around each aluminum sphere. Britt Nicole (Mountain Dew), Casting Crowns (Dr. Pepper), Josh Wilson (Diet Pepsi) and for KING & COUNTRY (Pepsi) will be featured on 25 million products with each can containing a code for a free song download.
In addition, at the K-LOVE Fan Awards (held June 1, 2014), it was announced that Jamie Grace would be featured on 4 million cans, as the first artist to appear on a 7UP can. This was a new category added to this year’s Fan Awards. Fans were able to vote on the artist they wanted to appear on 7UP on a ballot that included Grace, Hillsong Young & Free, Sidewalk Prophets and Tenth Avenue North.
“Pepsi MidAmerica is honored to partner with K-LOVE to reveal our 2nd annual Artist Can Series,” remarked Pepsi MidAmerica President Lee Crisp. “After receiving a great response last year, I am thrilled to once again share these unique artists with our consumers. I look forward to the impact these cans and the message they carry will have in the market.” Crisp received a standing ovation at the K-LOVE Fan Awards kickoff concert for his commitment to his faith and his continued creative endeavors to promote Christian music.
