1. YOU GET TO MEET PASTOR BOBBY

You may not know his name, but if you’ve been to Winter Jam before, you’ve seen Bobby Joiner. Pastor Bobby is the longtime road pastor for Winter Jam founders NewSong and the subsequent mega multi-artist tour. He often leads arenas in prayer to kick off Winter Jam each night. Behind the scenes, he’s a highly-respected prayer warrior and spiritual mentor to not only Winter Jam artists but also numerous concert attendees. His mark on Winter Jam is undeniable and as This Is Winter Jam director Nate Corrona puts it, “Pastor Bobby is the real star.”

2. YOU GET TO EXPERIENCE JAM CHURCH

This is one of the coolest parts of Winter Jam. Each Sunday, duct-taped arrows and makeshift handwritten signs lead artists off the buses and into a specific location at that day’s venue for “Jam Church.” Jam Church is a chance for artists, band members and crew to come together as a family to spiritually refuel. A different Winter Jam artist leads worship each week, and Pastor Bobby and the current Winter Jam speaker (this year, it was Tony Nolan) also speak and lead a time of prayer. Ask any artist who’s ever been on Winter Jam, and they’ll tell you Jam Church is one of their favorite aspects of the tour.

3. YOU GET TO SEE INCREDIBLE LIVE PERFORMANCES

A film crew followed the Winter Jam Tour Spectacular for portions of the 2015 and 2016 tour. So, fans who attend This Is Winter Jam will get to see artists from both years, as well as exclusive interviews with past Winter Jam artists. However, most of the live performance footage is from last year, with performances by Skillet, for KING & COUNTRY, Francesca Battistelli, Jeremy Camp, Family Force 5, Building 429, RED and others. If you didn’t get there in time to score a front row seat, This Is Winter Jam gives you one for these red hot performances.

4. YOU GET A BACKSTAGE PASS

Family. Community. These are two words that are used over and over again to describe Winter Jam. This Is Winter Jam takes you backstage to get a firsthand look at the camaraderie shared between the artists and their crews. Fans get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the antics, the fun and the hard work that goes on before, after and during the actual show. From set list prep to epic corn hole battles, This Is Winter Jam brings fans into the center of the mayhem. The tour lasts the better part of three months, and the friendships forged on Winter Jam often last a lifetime.

5. YOU GET TO INTRODUCE YOUR FRIENDS TO JESUS

If you have friends on the fence about Christianity, bring them to This Is Winter Jam—and make sure you stay till the very end. The film culminates with an invitation to accept Christ. Tony Nolan speaks directly to movie goers giving them an opportunity to pray to receive Christ in a kind, clear and direct way. It’s an amazing opportunity to share Jesus with your friends, and it’s a fitting way to cap off the movie. After all, Winter Jam has always been about way more than the music…it’s always been His tour.
